Mark_Perrin.pngMr. Perrin has over 35 years of Information Technology, Finance and Engineering experience in upstream oil and gas. He has experience in providing business and IT analysis to upstream corporate risk, marketing and petroleum engineering business areas. His specialties include business analysis, project management, risk management, and life cycle management. Mark brings years of petroleum engineering, risk management, IT management and, oil and gas field experience to bear on the client problem at hand.

Through Corvelle Consulting, Mr. Perrin has assisted oil and gas companies implement EPAP, update MARP’s for submission to the AER and develop analytics for production engineering. Mark is helping clients increase the value they are receiving from their investments in information technology through initiatives by contributing both a business and an IT perspective.

At Cenovus Energy Inc. and its predecessor companies, EnCana Corporation and PanCanadian Petroleum Ltd., Mr. Perrin worked on information technology, finance and, engineering initiatives including: implementing financial risk analytical tools that support the corporate financial risk group with complex risk analysis for portfolios containing nonlinear instruments, performing financial and commodity price risk analysis, developing a risk management framework in support of a major offshore oil development project in the North Sea, implementing a cross-functional workflow system which tracked the drilling of over a thousand wells in the company’s annual drilling program, implementing a surface land management system, documenting and, testing business processes and controls to meet SOX 404 compliance in several business units.

Previously, Mark held several positions at Imperial Oil Ltd. in its information technology and engineering groups. He gained valuable project management, engineering and operations experience in offshore exploration in the Canadian Beaufort Sea, as a field engineer for a major oil field under miscible flood, and as project engineer for several major civil engineering projects in support of the exploration drilling program.

long Mr. Long is senior IT Management Consultant and Project  Manager with over 25 years of business and IT experience.  With a focus on the oil and gas sector, combined with an  extensive electric utility background, he has a broad range of  industry experience. Experience from the field through to senior  management allows Mr. Long to work with all levels of an  organization.

Mr. Long is not only a highly competent professional but a  strong leader with firmly entrenched values and principles that  permeate everything he does. He delivers promptly on his  commitments and is one of those rare individuals that can set  people at ease during difficult times with his calm and caring  demeanor.

EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
Mr. Long has over five years of consulting experience specializing in the areas of management consulting, program management, project management and facilitation. He has dealt with initiatives in the areas of strategic planning, software development & implementation, RFP creation & execution, vendor management, project reviews and business case development. His work has allowed him to gain knowledge of upstream production accounting, SAG-D construction & operations, records management, pipelines, drilling and non-profit organizations.

Prior to his consulting career, Mr. Long worked extensively in the electric utility industry, starting in the field and working his way up to the head of a large IT department. As head of IT, Mr. Long repatriated a large outsourcing contract and set up the entire IT department from ground zero. While building the IT department he prepared the utility to transition from a regulated market to a deregulated market by implementing the business systems required to support business operations in the new market.

Mr. Long gained experience in the electric utility IT industry in the areas of supervision, program management, project management, business analysis, quality assurance & testing, package selection & implementation, software development & implementation, training, coaching and support. He acquired experience with work management, geographical information (GIS) & drafting, financial systems, inventory, timesheet systems, trouble dispatching, transformer asset management & maintenance, land & survey and engineering & construction. It also gave Mr. Long the opportunity to work closely with the civic government IT organization in the development and implementation of methodologies and standards.

  Mr. Schulz has over 30 years  of Information Technology  experience in various  industries. Yogi works  extensively in  the  petroleum  industry to select  and  implement financial,  production revenue  accounting, land & contracts  and  geotechnical systems.  He manages projects that  arise from  changes in  business requirements, from the need to leverage  technology opportunities and from mergers. His specialties  include IT strategy, web strategy and systems project  management.

Most recently, Yogi led a project at the AER that developed  and rolled out the Enhanced Production Audit Program (EPAP)  to the Alberta oil & gas industry.

Mr. Schulz speaks regularly to industry groups and writes a column. He has written for Microsoft.com, for the Calgary Herald and for Computing Canada. His writing focuses on project management and IT developments of interest to management. Mr. Schulz has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the PPDM Association since 1994.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Previously, at DMR Group Inc., Mr. Schulz worked with several oil and gas companies to select and implement administrative and technical systems as well as setting direction for the development of the application portfolio.

Mr. Schulz previously held the position of General Manager at a Calgary company that is a leading supplier of data processing services to the Canadian energy industry.

Previously, Yogi was a partner for many years in a Calgary-based information systems consulting practice specializing in the oil and gas industry. Yogi was project manager in the construction or enhancement of administrative and geotechnical systems for many clients in the energy sector.

Mel_Miners.pngMel has over 40 years of experience in the petroleum and related industries. He has been employed by chemical companies, analytical laboratories, multi-national petroleum companies and independents. For the last 19 years he has worked as an independent consultant mainly as a reservoir engineer through his company Martlet Inc. He gained experience in conventional reservoir engineering, enhanced oil recovery, coal bed methane and thermal projects.

More recently, Mel has been associated with Corvelle Consulting in providing assistance to oil and gas operators with their EPAP programs. This includes areas of expertise in field instrumentation, compliance assessment remediation, measurement schematics and production accounting.

As an advocate of life-long learning, Mel has obtained two advanced degrees and multiple short-course certificates. He has been involved in teaching various aspects of the CAPPA certificate program at both SAIT Polytechnic and Mount Royal University. He has also taught parts of the introductory course for PASC.
